A visual design studio iterating in the open. Studio Ramirez builds expressive identity systems, immersive brand spaces, digital experiences and custom type.

Featured work

5 projects and 2 notes, on a loop. Tab moves through them; Escape leaves the list.

Caution: Wet paint

Studio Ramirez is a newly-formed visual design studio. We’re not fully sure what we look like yet, so we’re amorphously iterating. We’ve built highly expressive visual identity systems; immersive physical brand installations; boundaryless digital experiences; custom logotypes & typefaces; and unconventional editorial objects. Wanted: Collaborators

We’re currently seeking creative partners (art directors, design directors, designers, and project managers.) If you’ve scrolled this far, and are interested in making industry-defining work, click below:

Design for the global engineering community

Project 1

Client Intuit

Discipline

  • visual identity
  • wayfinding
  • Environmental

As a part of the Intuit team, Studio Ramirez designed the visual identity for Global Engineering Days—a weeklong summit for tech builders across the company.

We developed a grid-based visual framework that flexes across the entire experience, from on-site installations to wayfinding to small moments of delight. The system expands on the ideas of building the infrastructure of the future of tech at Intuit.

A system as flexible as the pedagogy

UIUC MFA Exhibition Catalogue

Client University of Illinois School of Art + Design

Discipline

  • visual identity
  • editorial
  • materials suite
  • logo
  • custom typeface

The University of Illinois Master of Fine Arts program enables students to construct their own path from a set of curricular building blocks. Starting in 2022, we designed an identity on the same principle: a modular graphic shape and type system that recombines endlessly. It extended across a concentration booklet series, graduate program guide, exhibition catalogue, posters and mailers, and custom exhibition website. We've continued to partner with the UofI every year up to the present.

This visual identity has earned recognition from the Type Directors Club TDC67 Communication Design; Society of Typographic Arts STA100; Communication Arts 2020 Typography Annual Identity; Communication Arts 2020 Design Annual Trademarks; Communication Arts 2020 Design Annual Integrated Branding Shortlist; Communication Arts 2020 Design Annual Catalogues Shortlist; Graphis Design Annual 2021 Silver Award; GDUSA 2020 American Web Design Awards
